Description

Technical analysis will become your fundamental tool for identifying the trend of each security you analyze. Understanding how the system works, these tools will form the basis for analyzing investment strategies. You will thus be able to manage and administer investment portfolios like a professional.

Syllabus

Unit 1: Basic concepts; definition, history, software, charts, and fundamentals of technical analysis Unit 2: Dow; origin, moving averages, trends, countertrends, and volatility; support and resistance in technical analysis Unit 3: Patterns, trends; characteristics, reversal characteristics common to all patterns. Unit 4: Technical indicators - What are they?; MACD; Williams %R; Stochastic; RSI; Accumulation/Distribution; The size of divergences.

This course is for anyone who wants or needs to learn more about available investment options, value financial assets, analyze risks, define investment strategies, and manage their own or others portfolios. Prerequisites: Basic reading and writing skills in Spanish and basic math skills.

Exams

Students will have two evaluation instances throughout the course: the first partial in each thematic unit along with a self-evaluation instance that is included in the notes-reading material of each one, and at the end an integrative evaluation that will be of all the thematic units that we cover.
